About three kilometers from Tirupati, at the base of the Tirumala hills, is a holy temple and waterfall called Kapila Theertham. The sole temple in Tirupati devoted to Lord Shiva is this one, which is called Kapileswara Swamy here. Being one of the revered Shiva Kshetras, the temple holds great religious significance.
